Where I work
I'm based in Street and work across Bridgwater and the surrounding Somerset towns and villages. If you're not sure whether I cover where you are, give me a call, if it's close I'll usually come and take a look.
Bridgwater
Most of my work is in Bridgwater, ceilings, full rooms, artex covered and skimmed flat, and external rendering. Recent jobs include bedrooms and a bathroom ceiling for a customer in town.
Street
I'm based in Street, so I'm on the doorstep for anything local, from a single patch repair through to a full house.
Glastonbury
Plastering and rendering across Glastonbury on property old and new, including period buildings that need materials matched to the original.
Ashcott
Recent work in Ashcott included a set of downstairs artex ceilings skimmed flat and finished ready to decorate.
Highbridge
Skimming, ceiling repairs and dry lining in Highbridge, domestic and smaller commercial work alike.
Burnham-on-Sea
Plastering across Burnham-on-Sea. Coastal property tends to carry more moisture in the walls, so I check what's behind the surface before quoting.
North Petherton
Full rooms, patch repairs and rendering in North Petherton and the villages around it.
Somerton
Plastering and skimming throughout Somerton, including older stone property needing a breathable finish.
Wells
Work across Wells and the surrounding villages, including period property where the existing plaster needs matching rather than replacing wholesale.
FAQs
Common questions
Do you cover Bridgwater?
Yes. Bridgwater is where most of my work is. I'm based in Street, a short drive away, and I cover Bridgwater, Glastonbury, Ashcott, Highbridge, Burnham-on-Sea, North Petherton, Somerton and Wells.
How much does plastering cost?
It depends almost entirely on what's already on the wall, which is why I come and look before quoting rather than guessing over the phone. The visit is free and there's no obligation at the end of it.
Can you cover an artex ceiling?
Yes, and it's one of the most common jobs I get asked for. In most cases the artex can be skimmed over and flattened rather than removed, which is quicker, cleaner and cheaper. I'll tell you which applies once I've seen it.
How long does a room take?
A single ceiling is usually a day. A full room, ceiling and walls, is typically two to three days including drying time. I'll give you the timings when I quote so you can plan around it.
Are you insured?
Yes, I carry public liability insurance on every job, domestic and commercial.
When can you start?
Tell me your dates when you get in touch and I'll be straight with you about what I can do. I'd rather be honest about availability than take a booking and let you down.
